Episode 5: Hello from home

NOTE: This is a fictional plotline. I'm not in anyone else's home in reality. 


Hello, Mr Bloomsip! We're back on the air! 

From our own studio, at last! 

Shall we catch our listeners up on my misadventures? 

Given it's been a month since our last post, yes. 

The home I was in was somewhere in Pune, but where exactly? When let out of my cage, I managed to turn the child of the house into an avid Nerdfighter, and, with them being old enough, they were on An Abundance of Desis! From there, talking to Mr Bloomsip was significantly facilitated, after whatever was going on with the leg-bound device. 

After accessing my parents, I defenestrated, turned human, and hid until they found me, and here I am, revelling in the 'Missing Bird' posters! 

Ha-ha! 

Wait, what's that noise in our studi- another sunbird?! Let's go see, Bloomsip! 

Mmh... what is this place? 

Readers, I'd like you to meet my very distant cousin sibling Hibiscus! 

Wait, they're named Hibiscus? 

Yep! 

Hang on there. I'm getting you some water. 

Don't mind her, because that urvogel there means no harm. 

Is that bird German? 

Not really a bird, and not German. But hello again! So, this is the end of our very delayed episode.

P.S. Hibiscus is a real bird who flew into my home. They were dazed, drank sugar water, flew to the fan after my dad tried to hold them, sat there for a long time, went and perched on the curtain when a stepladder was brought, and finally zipped off into the blue after another grab at them. I have photographic proof.

Happy World Wildlife Day!

Hello, fellow eukaryotes! It's March 3, which means it's World Wildlife Day! It happens on the same date every year. I decided that I'd give you a little behind-the-scenes update and share a few facts about wildlife.  ⬆️The avian co-hosts and I had a chat today. Here's a picture of it.  So, the next episode is going to be biome-focused. Unfortunately, I deleted the draft for it, accidentally and irreversibly. Thankfully, the guest stars and I are willing to re-record/rewrite it. It's going to be more scientific than previous episodes.  Now, here are the facts.  "Wildlife" doesn't just mean "animals". Bacteria, archaea, fungi, plants, and other eukaryotes also count.  Most animals are arthropods! This is because insects are successful. And beetles alone comprise 40% of insects.  Speaking of insects, flycatchers aren't named that because they catch flies. It's because they fly to catch prey (flycatching).  And that's all...
